The Vision Behind the Camera
Meet Clifton Li, engineer student turned professional cinematographer passionate about telling wedding stories through film.
After serendipitously picking up a camera for the first time on a trip to Hawaii in 2009, Clifton fell in love with being behind the camera. Upon his return from Hawaii, he immediately transferred out of the software engineering program and began pursing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Ryerson University, where he then developed his technical skills and artistic abilities.
On a professional level, Clifton’s keen eye for observation allows him to capture moments that tell the most memorable stories. As he is also an award-winning advertising and commercial photographer, achieving awards from Applied Arts, Hasselblad Masters, the International Photography Awards, and more.
After spending years crafting still images, Clifton decided to pursue his passion for bringing stories to life through cinematography. He began his mentorship alongside internationally acclaimed wedding cinematographer Michael Y Wong, while combining his background in music, superior storytelling skills, and unique creative vision.
On a personal level, Clifton loves travelling to the Hawaiian and Caribbean islands out of his love for clear blue waters and the sound of the waves. Also, he couldn’t live without sashimi.
