Amy & Matthew’s Anniversary Reception

Early in July on a lovely summer day was Amy and Matthew’s one-year anniversary and they celebrated the occasion with an incredible party at the Markham Museum.

Amy and Matthew were married in the United States but since they’re moving back to Toronto for good, they wanted to host a wedding party for their friends and family back home. Located on Main Street, the museum’s grounds consist of beautiful historic buildings with the Hoover House being the oldest, which was built in 1825.

Annie Melissa was the one who planned the wonderful event and who also invited me along to capture the moments. It was a hip summer party that was held outdoors under a large reception tent and decorated with string lights.

There were a number of awesome food trucks that were brought in to cater the event like M.E.N.U. Food Truck, Buster’s Sea Cove, Stroke Stack BBQ, and Be Good Gelato. It was both self-serve and all-you-can-eat – a dangerous combination. Everything was delicious but my favourite was undoubtedly the massive lobster roll. Good thing there were excellent lawn games like giant beer pong and bocce ball to help everyone combat that food baby.
